Longie confusion :)
I have now succefully completed (well, mostly... some need yarn ends woven in still), 1 soaker, and 2 pairs of longies.
The soaker looks like it will fit right. Its a from the punk knitters soaker pattern, made to be size newborn.
Soaker: rise=14 inches, waist=maximum of 14 inches (smaller with drawstring), hips=12 inches, inseam=cuffs
The longies I thought I was making of a similar size, but it turns out they're MUCH bigger. At least to look at them.
White-longies: rise=16 inches, waist=12-18inches, hips=16 inches, inseam=9 inches
Rainbow-longies: rise=15 inches, waist=12-18 inches, hips=18 inches, inseam=9 inches
So now I'm asking around on my fluff communities what size of baby they think the longies will fit. I'm thinking maybe 3-6 month size, over a prefold diaper. I guess I need to go back to the drawing board when it comes to what measurements a wee-baby diaper should be. Hopefully the same communities can tell me what measurements I should be aiming for, if I want a newborn or 1 month old baby to be able to wear these :)

I love them Stacy! How cute!
Stacy -- were the colorful longies from the yarn Barb spun?
Yes they were! Aren't they adorable? I need to take pictures of the hat i made for Rowan out of the orange yarn from you :) Its way cute too. I've been trying really hard to figure out what I'm going to make next. I'm thinking about something with some sort of design on it (to challenge my knitting skills). And another pair of longies from the Aunt Barb yarn, but smaller, to fit a littler baby.
